The Beauty of Personal Style

Style is an expression of individualism mixed with charisma.” ~John ...

Right from when I was just a little girl I’ve always had this warm fascination for women who look effortlessly beautiful. I mean, you have to agree with me that there’s something absolutely captivating about a woman who has distinct style in appearance, behavior and movement. Guess what?! That something is actually termed ELEGANCE!!

Maxi dresses in classy style

Yes gorgeous ladies, today we’re going to talk about the beauty of being a woman of style. A week ago I came across this stunning girl in a social gathering that literally couldn’t find a comfortable way to sit down because her dress was ridiculously short & tight (oh yea, figuring how to sit without making the privates public became rocket science). The truth is there’s a patent difference between ‘classy’ & ‘trashy’ and trust me when I say this; the world will never respect a tacky looking woman hence no lady should desire to look cheap.
Style is an individual not a corporation; it’s the unique expression of your personality through clothes, speech & mannerism. Consequently, just because a certain fashion is trending doesn’t necessarily mean you should throw away your individuality and go with the wind but of course you can sure assemble the different components or pieces to create your own signature. For the sake of this discourse please permit me to use Kate Middleton as our today's' icon of elegance (for those who don’t know her, you may go ahead & Google). Kate is painlessly elegant in the way she dresses, her outfits are never too short, too long, too tight, too loose, too colorful or too dull, there’s just hardly anything excessive about the duchess of Cambridge. Her makeup is never plastic, her hairstyle doesn’t look like she killed all the women in India and stole their mane. She walks all so graciously and her speech exudes nothing but refinement. Now! That, I want to believe she is an embodiment of the word elegance. Don’t get me wrong I’m not nudging you to become her copycat, that’s not the point here. You my beautiful strong woman of virtue need to build your own graceful style that isn’t influenced by our decaying society (in a manner of speaking).
Few pointers to keep in Mind:

  1.  Like Coco Chanel wisely said “less is more”, keep it simple & chic. Avoid dramatic infusion of colors or over accessorizing (you're not a masquerade)
  2. Don't be over generous to your face with the foundation, eye shadow, lipstick etc (it scares real men away). Always go for the fresh natural look
  3. Find a style that compliments your body type; every figure has its perfect fit. Always go for what you're comfortable in to spare yourself from embarrassing scenarios
  4. Be confident in your own skin & embrace the beauty of imperfection
  5. Be well cultured & polite. Remember this saying “ a good name is better than great riches”
  6. Have a pleasant sweet smell such as that of a flower. The scent of a woman speaks. volumes about her (you need to groom yourself pay particular attention to personal hygiene).
  7.  Avoid unnecessary confrontations,  don’t be too forward but always communicate your stands with poise.
  8. Cultivate a reading habit ( an enlightened woman is extremely appealing).
  9. Always wear a smile, a lady is not complete without her sparkle.
  10.  Be a woman of prayer irrespective of your faith, it cleanses your inside which ultimately finds expression outside.
