Nigeria Sport Recap in 2015

 2015 has been a very good year in the sport sector. Nigeria had its own wins and we were made proud.

Okagbare for All-Africa games: Sprinter returns to fold
Starting up is Blessing Okagbare, the fastest woman in Africa soon to be in the world, who clinch the gold medal at the athletics competition at the 2015 African Games which was held at New Kintele stadium on 13-17 September 2015 at Brazzaville Congo.

She's also is in the Guinness book of record prize for most IAAF Diamond league appearance, where she beat Usain Bolt to it. The board of Guinness World Book called her a "Multi -discipline athlete who has participated at 38 Diamond league events between July 3, 2010 and September 5, 2014. Okagbare’s specialties are the 100m and 200m sprints and long jump,” Nigerians own wonder woman.

Second on the list is the dream team u-23

They are called the Siasia boys and this year they were tops at the just concluded Senegal 2015 where they beat Algeria to a 2-1 win at Dakar

Thirdly is my favorite of them #clearsthroat AFROBASKETBALL

I watched the tournament like my father was the coach, The team made me proud. For the first time ever Nigeria won the tournament by beating Angola to a 74-65 win, which qualified them for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics. Those boys fine sha.

Fourth is the Under17

The tournament was held at Chile. Though, they were labelled favorites to win the tournament and they showed their resilience and determination by winning the tournament for a record fifth time and the second country to win the tournament back to back. 

Fifth is the Nigeria Premier League

Nigeria football club enyimba Fc won the 2015 NPL and was crown the chmapoions for the first time since 2012. The league title is the 7th in Enyimba's history

Finally Scrabble;

Kudos goes to Mr wellington Jighere who broke the jinx.by winning the World English-Language Players Scrabble Association (WESPA) held in Australia for the first time as an African and Nigerian beating Lewis Mckay from England to become the world scrabble champion. 

Kudos to Nigeria in 2015, we look forward to an eventful 2016.
