A romp in the sheet comes with multiple health benefits, but poses come major risks too. Sexual Intercourse is a contact between individuals involving penetration, especially the insertion of a man's erect penis into a woman's vagina, typically culminating in orgasm and the ejaculation of semen.
Infection can be passed through sexual act, be it oral. anal or pen-vaginal sex,not just through sex, infection can be passed through fluids like blood, breast milk etc. Poor hygiene can also lead to infection.

SYMPTOMS OF SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

Painful bowel movement
Anal Itching
Pain of burning sensation while urinating
Blisters around sexual organs
Heavy menstrual bleeding or bleeding between periods
Thick cloudy or bloody discharge from the penis or vagina

when sexually transmitted disease is not checked, it can lead, lower abdominal pain, severe itching, it can affect genitals, swollen glands,sever breakout or skin cancer and sometimes death.


PREVENTING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES

Avoid contact of body fluid which can lead to transfer
Abstain from sexual intercourse 
Always take your vaccine
Proper use of condoms
Avoid self medication

Almost all sexually transmitted diseases can be cured and managed especially when reported immediately, so it is important to take advantage of the health care worker and visit the hospital on the slightest symptom you noticed.
